Software Engineering intern at Copart in Dallas, TX

Summary: Copart is a technology leader and the premier online vehicle auction platform globally, seeking interns to work on the development of application projects for their global expansion. Interns will collaborate with Program Managers, Business Analysts, and Team Leads to develop and modify applications primarily using Python and Java. Responsibilities: - Assist senior engineers and management to achieve optimal application architecture and design, utilizing Python and Java technologies - Assist in the development of efficient, secure websites, peer-review code, and document solutions within an agile-blended software environment - Communicate proactively with teammates, infrastructure, security, and quality assurance to continuously improve processes and engineering excellence - Ability to debug and understand complex code structures - Contribute to the design and development of recommendation engines using Python Required Qualifications: - Pursuing Master's Degree in Computer Science or a similar field - Experience with Python and Java - Candidates must be available for 40 hours a week to be considered for this role Preferred Qualifications: - Experience with web services and SQL - Experience with Spring Boot - Familiarity with modern Python libraries and frameworks used in backend development - Experience working on or understanding recommendation systems Required Skills: Python, Java Important Skills: Spring Boot, SQL Nice-to-Have Skills: Recommendation systems, Agile methodology, Code debugging
