To learn more please visit http://www.convatecgroup.com We are looking for a Manager – Product Packaging to lead a team of Packaging Engineers and Technicians, supporting both New Product Development (NPD) and base business initiatives. In this role, you will drive the development of secondary and tertiary packaging solutions across Convatec’s product portfolio, ensuring performance, compliance, and sustainability standards are met. A key focus will be advancing the company’s environmental goals through packaging materials and design. You will oversee activities such as packaging development and journey hazard testing, ensuring products are protected throughout the supply chain. The role requires close collaboration with a wide range of stakeholders, including T&I, Marketing, Regulatory Affairs, Quality, Legal, Labelling, Procurement, and Site Operations. Working in partnership with external suppliers, you will play a critical role in delivering effective, innovative, and compliant packaging solutions while leading and developing a high-performing team. Your key duties and responsibilities: Proactively provides objective information that is used to adapt project strategy to overcome obstacles that impact timelines and/or quality of the deliverables. Uses planning tools designed to schedule project plans and coordinate parallel activities. Coordinates and communicates projects with team members. Partners cross functionally with business partners to identify priorities and requirements for packaging team. Proactively addresses and communicates potential project delay caused by packaging issues. Serves as a central point of contact for packaging and communicates status and issues. Prepares reports assessments to assist in decision making regarding project priorities, resources, and budgets. Manages the Packaging team members to identify potential constraints, spot inconsistencies and challenge assumptions. Identifies potential issues and non-value-added processes. Drives strategic initiatives focused on continuous improvement to the packaging development processes, quality, system tools and/or policies. Leverages technical experts to drive best practices and align packaging with labelling and overall business needs. Works with leadership to identify opportunities and execute improvements to drive organization to next level with harmonization, best practices and innovative processes and technologies. Provides leadership, direction and coaching to globally diverse organization regarding all activities, responsibilities, growth, and professional development. Develops plans which provide options that maximize progress in response to changing conditions or new opportunities. Responsible for JHT process and JHT laboratory. Ensuring JHTs are following industry standards and that it is on compliance and documented. Ensuring that Convatec follows industry standards and packaging regulations. This position will ensure that work is performed in a manner that is safe, effective and compliant with regulated procedures and company policies. Must be able to establish strong internal working relationships with all operational functions, as well as external links and working relationships with Marketing Logistics, R&D, Regulatory Affairs, Sourcing and Quality Ability to establish the departmental budget and standard costs Ensure development and training of employees. Skills & Experience: Strong Management Skills. Broad knowledge of Packaging Standards and Requirements in the industry. Broad knowledge of medical device or pharmaceutical industry standards and regulations to support packaging requirements. Management experience with proven ability to develop and motivate staff and teams to high performance. Experience managing processes across a global manufacturing network. Experience in an environment with multiple business and national cultures. Qualifications/Education: Bachelor’s Degree with 10+ years of prior experience in the packaging industry, Medical Devices or Pharmaceutical preferred. Travel Requirements: Position may involve travel up to 25% of the time, mostly within Europe but overseas travel is expected. Most trips will include overnight travel. Working Conditions: This position will be based in manufacturing site within ConvaTec business with a hybrid working structure.
