They are seeking a Mechanical Engineering Intern to support design and manufacturing teams in building and testing robotic systems, providing hands-on experience in a dynamic environment. Responsibilities: - System and part level design for an autonomous unloader robot - Assemble and test industrial electro-mechanical systems - Prototype mechanical solutions to dynamic problems, fabricating parts as needed (e.g. machining, sheet metal, 3D printing) - Create system tests for verification of design/manufacturing - Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues on production robots - Participate in design feedback sessions and contribute to process improvements Required Qualifications: - Actively pursuing or recently completed a BS in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field - CAD experience of complex parts & assemblies (Solidworks preferred) - Have designed and fabricated multi-disciplinary projects outside of class - Machine shop experience (mill, lathe, laser cutter, shop tools) - Strong communication and problem-solving skills - Ability to work at Contoro's office location in Austin, TX Preferred Qualifications: - FEA experience with Solidworks, ANSYS, or Abaqus - Exposure to basic programming (Python, C++) or ROS - Previous internship or co-op in a design role and/or a strong role in a student project team Required Skills: Mechanical Engineering, CAD (Solidworks) Important Skills: Machine shop experience, Programming Python, Programming C++ Benefits: Health, dental and vision beneftis, Free Office snacks, Flexible work hours, Pet friendly office, Ping pong and entertainment area, Continuous education program, Heath and wellness reimbursement program
