Job Description
Mission of the Role
The mission of the position is to plan, coordinate, and control all production activities to achieve budget, quality, and production targets. This includes maximizing quality and capacity utilization while reducing costs and lead times. The Head of Production is also responsible for initiating and implementing action plans that drive the continuous improvement of all production-related processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, manage, and coordinate all production activities within the plant or operations unit.
- Translate the plant or operations unit’s production strategy into actionable plans and ensure their effective implementation.
- Contribute to the strategic and operational planning of the plant or operations unit, including investments, capacity planning, and headcount planning.
- Ensure the achievement of production targets in line with internal objectives and external customer expectations.
- Initiate, plan, and control investments in production equipment, such as manufacturing machines and assembly systems.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives by applying CBS methodologies and implementing structured training measures.
- Act as the key interface with Business Area (BA) functions to align local production requirements, demands, and feedback.
- Participate in and/or lead global and local production-related and cross-functional projects.
- Conduct employee dialogues and lead personnel development, performance management, and coaching activities.
Qualifications
Education / Certification
- University degree, preferably in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
Professional Experience
(Variety of Functions, Variety of Business, General Management Experience)
- Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in production or manufacturing roles across multiple functions.
- Proven cross-functional experience in areas such as Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, or CBS (Conti Business System) is preferred.
Project and/or Process Experience
- Extensive hands-on experience with rubber and plastic production processes.
Leadership Experience
- At least 5 years of leadership experience, preferably within operational environments, with full functional and disciplinary responsibility for teams.
Intercultural / International Experience
- Demonstrated experience working with international teams on production-related topics, with strong intercultural awareness.
- Spanish is mandatory; professional proficiency in English is required.
