Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Database Administrator (DBA) responsible for the installation, configuration, maintenance, performance tuning, security, backup and recovery of enterprise databases. The candidate should have strong hands-on experience in database administration, troubleshooting, monitoring and production support.

Must-Have Skills

• Strong experience in Database Administration
• Hands-on experience with Oracle / SQL Server / PostgreSQL databases
• Database installation, configuration and upgrades
• Database performance monitoring and SQL query performance tuning
• Backup and recovery strategies
• Database security, users, roles and permissions
• High Availability and Disaster Recovery concepts
• Troubleshooting database performance and connectivity issues
• Production database support and incident management
• Strong knowledge of SQL and PL/SQL/T-SQL
• Database monitoring and health checks
• Experience with database patching and upgrades
• Knowledge of indexing, execution plans and query optimization
• Experience with ITIL/incident/change management processes

Responsibilities

• Install, configure and maintain database servers and instances.
• Monitor database performance, availability and capacity.
• Perform database backup, restore and recovery activities.
• Troubleshoot database-related production issues.
• Perform SQL query and database performance tuning.
• Create and manage database users, roles, privileges and security policies.
• Manage database upgrades, patches and migrations.
• Configure and maintain High Availability and Disaster Recovery solutions.
• Perform regular database health checks and capacity planning.
• Monitor database alerts, logs and system performance.
• Support application teams during database-related issues.
• Develop and maintain database administration scripts.
• Participate in production deployments and change management activities.
• Maintain database documentation, SOPs and operational procedures.
• Ensure database security, availability and compliance requirements are met.

Technical Skills

Database: Oracle / SQL Server / PostgreSQL
Languages: SQL, PL/SQL, T-SQL
Backup & Recovery: RMAN / SQL Server Backup / native PostgreSQL tools
HA/DR: RAC, Data Guard, Always On, Replication, Clustering
Monitoring: OEM / SQL Server Monitoring / Grafana / other monitoring tools
OS: Linux / Unix / Windows
Cloud: AWS / Azure – Good to Have
Automation: Shell Scripting / PowerShell / Python – Good to Have
