Team Leader

Position Summary:

Responsible for determining work procedures, prepares work schedules and expedites workflow for each cell and assures daily schedules are met and completed. Assigns duties and periodically examines work for productivity and quality, assuring specifications are being met, including exactness, neatness and conformance to policies and procedures. Ensures that the necessary tools, raw materials, supplies, etc., are available and adequate. Assists in training team members to operate machines, perform duties and monitors safety practices within the work cells. Leads problem solving activities within cells using appropriate employee involvement techniques and statistical methods. Assures that SOP's and WI's are being followed. Ensures adherence to the attendance and progressive disciplinary policy. Serves as a resource to employees and assists in resolving conflicts.

Essential Job Functions:

• Ensures all work instructions are followed consistently to meet production requirements.
• Ensures accurate part counts for all customer orders, repairs products as necessary, and accurately interprets and uses standard tape measures.
• Uses company equipment to print and apply barcode labels to products.
• Performs all tasks with appropriate safety equipment and identifies need for additional safety equipment as necessary.
• Provides effective and professional verbal and written communications internally and externally.
• Creates and implements process improvements.
• Trains other employees in specific operations.
• Executes additional tasks as required.

• Knowledge or ability to learn Conestoga Wood Specialties products, processes, and systems
• Must have excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
• Must have good problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to learn and gain proficiency in additional systems.
• Ability to work as a member of a team.
• Must have excellent attention to detail.
• Must have basic computer skills.

Job Requirements:

• Requires a High school Diploma or equivalent qualification
• Wears approved safety equipment at all times.
• Basic computer skills.
• Identifies and communicates safety violations and/or injuries to according company policy
• Responsible for upholding the company’s values, vision and mission by integrating integrity, respect, accountability, resourcefulness, and innovation into daily work performance

Essential Physical Requirements:

• Requires the use of elbows, fingers, hands, lower arms, thumbs, wrists and upper torso (shoulders, neck and upper back).
• Requires standing 95% of the day and walking 5% of the day.
• Mental and emotional pressure is present in this job. Stress is created through making quick decisions, extended concentration, excessive distractions and performing multiple tasks.
