Job Description
Summary: Conair LLC is a leading international designer and manufacturer of branded personal care and small kitchen appliances. They are seeking a UX/UI Designer Intern to immerse in product innovation and consumer experience, crafting engaging digital touchpoints and collaborating across teams.
Responsibilities:
- Help craft engaging and intuitive digital touchpoints for Cuisinart’s connected appliances, apps, and brand experiences
- Participate in user interviews, social media trend spotting, and usability testing to uncover consumer insights that inspire new ideas
- Create wireframes, prototypes, and visuals using tools like Figma, Adobe XD, or Sketch—and bring your ideas to life through storytelling and motion
- Work closely with product managers, engineers, culinary experts, and marketers to bring fresh digital concepts to market
- Track emerging trends in design, social media, technology, and food culture—and share ideas that could shape next generation of Cuisinart experiences
- Contribute to Cuisinart’s evolving digital design system and help refine a consistent, beautiful, and functional design language
Required Qualifications:
- A rising senior or graduate student studying UX/UI Design, Product Design, Interaction Design, Industrial Design (with a UI focus), or a related field
- Interested in designing user interfaces for physical products and small kitchen appliances—such as displays, buttons, knobs, touch panels, lights, and sounds—not websites or mobile apps
- Comfortable creating simple, intuitive interfaces for small screens and limited controls, where clarity and ease of use matter more than visual complexity
- Curious about how people actually use products in real kitchens—with wet hands, limited time, and lots of distractions
- Thoughtful about usability, ergonomics, feedback, and error prevention when designing physical interfaces
- Proficient in Figma (or similar tools) for wireframes, flows, and interaction concepts, with a portfolio that shows clear thinking about how users interact with physical products
- Collaborative, detail-oriented, and excited to see designs become real products that people use every day
- Passionate about finding the latest design trends with an innate curiosity to want to learn more about user experiences
- You should be a current college student, entering your senior year in the fall of 2026
- The internship program will run from June 1, 2026, through August 7, 2026. Interns will work Monday through Friday on a 37.5-hour work week schedule, which includes a 30-minute unpaid lunch break each day
- We require candidates to maintain excellent academic standing
- Demonstrated strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills are essential for success in this role
- Proficiency in MS Office, including Excel and PowerPoint, is a must
- As part of our hybrid work model, interns are expected to be present in the office 4 days a week with Friday being a work from anywhere day. Please note that Conair does not provide housing for summer interns
- Compensation for all internship positions is set at $25 per hour, and the internship is based out of our Stamford, CT corporate office location
- At this time, we are unable to sponsor visas or OPT
- Must be able to sit/stand for extended periods of time
