Job Description
Summary: Commonwealth of Kentucky is seeking a Purchasing Officer I within the Department of Corrections. This position performs beginning level duties in the procurement of goods and non-professional services on an agency wide-basis.
Responsibilities:
- Gathers, prepares and maintains purchase and payment documents
- Works with vendors to collect quotes, invoices and etc
- Pro Card Holder and reconciles purchases
- Monitors purchases made for conformance with the Model Procurement Code, (KRS 45A)
- Performs beginning level duties in the performance of and, or, payment of goods and non-professional services in accordance with the agency’s Small Purchase Authority
- Performs other duties as directed by Fiscal Manager and Supervisor
Required Qualifications:
- Graduate of a college or university with a bachelor's degree
- Experience in purchasing will substitute for the required college on a year for year basis
- Certification with the National Institute of Governmental Purchasing as a Certified Professional Public Buyer (CPPB) will substitute for one year of the college requirement
- Certification as a Certified Public Purchasing Officer (CPPO) will substitute for two years of the college requirement
