Job Description
Manager, Instructional Design & Technology, Commonwealth Equity Services LLC (d/b/a Commonwealth Financial Network) (Waltham, MA): Manage the creation and implementation of engaging, compliant, and scalable learning experiences in the financial services industry—including eLearning, training videos, job aids, and other employee performance support tools and projects. Duties include:
- Manage and mentor a high performing team of instructional designers and eLearning developers, fostering a collaborative and compliance-focused team environment.
- Oversee project timelines, set priorities and ensure quality deliverables.
- Lead the design and implementation of learning solutions using best practices (i.e. ADDIE & SAM).
- Develop eLearning, simulations, videos, job aids, instructor-led, and virtual instructor-led training tailored to diverse learner needs.
- Work with subject matter experts (SMEs) to convert complex financial concepts into clear, engaging learning experiences.
- Partner with Compliance, Risk, and Operations teams to ensure accuracy and alignment with organizational policies and regulations.
- Collaborate with SMEs to translate complex financial content into clear and engaging learning solutions.
- Support technology rollout projects by working with technical SMEs to design and deliver effective enablement and adoption training.
- Maintain high standards for instructional design quality and evaluate and incorporate learner feedback and performance metrics for continuous improvement on instructional design projects.
- Stay current with advancements in learning technologies and trends relevant to financial services training.
- Serve as the primary contact for all Learning Management System (LMS) communications, updates, and issue resolution.
- Test, document, and report LMS updates, bugs, and system performance issues.
- Lead strategic vendor discussions to enhance LMS capabilities.
- Communicate LMS updates and changes clearly and proactively to stakeholders.
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Instructional Design, Adult Education, Organizational Development, or Project Management, and two (2) years of experience in Instructional Design, curriculum and eLearning development.
Qualified candidates must have two (2) years of experience in the following:
- Supervising or leading instructional design teams and corporate learning projects.
- Managing end-to-end learning solutions, from learning needs analysis through evaluation.
- Working with Articulate 360, Adobe Creative Suite and LMS platforms.
- Utilizing and applying SCORM/xAPI and accessibility standards.
- Applying ADDIE and SAM methodologies, instructional design theories, adult learning principles, and online pedagogy.
- Utilizing blended learning, microlearning, and virtual learning modalities.
- Leveraging Microsoft SharePoint for content management, team collaboration, and version control within a corporate Learning & Development environment.
This position requires up to 10% domestic travel.
This position allows for 2 days/week of remote work from a home office within commuting distance of Waltham, MA.
