Job Description
Summary: Commerce is on a mission to empower businesses through its open, AI-driven commerce ecosystem. They are seeking an Intern, Software Engineering to contribute to Makeswift’s infrastructure, APIs, and integrations while gaining hands-on experience in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
- Contribute to Makeswift’s BigCommerce integration, which will be rolled out to tens of thousands of storefronts with billions of dollars in revenue
- Expand Makeswift’s APIs with MCP servers for Makeswift’s or other external AI agents
- Instrument Makeswift’s backend for improved observability
- Set up internal preview environments to make it easier for developers and agents to contribute to Makeswift’s codebase and iterate before going to production
- Build a CDN to make Makeswift sites more reliable by isolating them from the management API
Required Qualifications:
- Experience with web development either through coursework, personal projects or past internships
- Strong proficiency in a programming language
- A desire to learn and participate in a fast-paced environment
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Great problem solving and analytical skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with TypeScript and JavaScript runtimes (e.g., Node.js, Bun, Deno, etc.)
- Experience with web development technologies like React and Next.js
- Experience with REST, GraphQL, and building APIs
- Experience with CI/CD methodologies and related technologies (e.g., GitHub Actions)
- Experience with cloud infrastructure providers like GCP, Vercel, and Cloudflare
