Job Description
Summary: Collaborative Systems Inc is seeking a Quality Control Inspector to join their team in Westfield, IN. This role involves inspecting incoming commodities and sub-assemblies for compliance with specifications, utilizing Coordinate Measuring Machines, and ensuring adherence to quality guidelines and documentation.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough inspections of incoming commodities and sub-assemblies to ensure 100% conformance to applicable drawings and specifications
- Inspect a diverse range of materials, including mechanical parts, chemical components, printed materials, and potential bio-hazard items
- Utilize Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM) and apply expertise in Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) to verify complex part geometries
- Perform rigorous functional testing as required by specific component drawings or test instructions to guarantee operational reliability
- Work in strict accordance with Abbott SH Procedures and cGMP guidelines, maintaining a regulated and audit-ready environment
- Collaborate directly with engineers on new product development, sharing inspection results and analyzing Non-conformance (NC) data to drive quality
- Ensure all job documentation for cell operations and functions is meticulous, up-to-date, and provides a clear trail for traceability
- Clearly communicate technical ideas, problems, and solutions to all levels of quality management through detailed written reports and oral presentations
Required Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent is required
- Demonstrated experience with Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM)
- Ability to interpret advanced GD&T drawings
- Strong understanding of cGMP guidelines
- Exceptional attention to detail when identifying non-conformities in mechanical, chemical, or printed materials
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to maintain a positive and professional attitude when interacting with internal teams and external visitors
- Ability to perform routine assignments under initial review while maintaining a focus on high-quality output and departmental goals
- Quality control experience: 1 year
