We’ve been named a Leader by multiple analyst firms and have been globally recognized for Innovation, Product Strength, and Simplicity in Design.
Join us on our mission to shape the future of our industry.
Cohesity is seeking an experienced security leader to help shape the future of data security, cyber resilience, and AI-driven threat detection. This role will focus on building advanced detection capabilities, scaling intelligent threat hunting systems, and partnering closely with Product and Engineering teams to integrate security directly into the Cohesity platform.
You will operate at the intersection of cybersecurity, data protection, AI, cloud infrastructure, and large-scale distributed systems, helping customers proactively identify, investigate, and respond to sophisticated threats targeting their most critical data assets.
HOW YOU’LL SPEND YOUR TIME HERE:
Advanced Detection Engineering
- Design, develop, and implement sophisticated detection methodologies to identify advanced threats, ransomware activity, insider threats, and emerging attack techniques.
- Create and optimize complex detection rules, behavioral analytics, and anomaly detection frameworks across large-scale SaaS environments.
- Lead initiatives leveraging machine learning and AI to improve threat detection efficacy and reduce false positives.
- Continuously evaluate emerging threat actor tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTPs) and translate them into scalable detection capabilities.
AI-Driven Threat Hunting
- Architect and build AI-powered threat hunting platforms capable of identifying advanced attacks across high-scale cloud and SaaS infrastructures.
- Develop automation and intelligent investigation workflows that accelerate threat discovery and response.
- Apply machine learning, LLMs, and advanced analytics to uncover previously unknown attack patterns.
- Establish repeatable hunting methodologies and frameworks that improve security operations effectiveness.
Security Architecture & Product Collaboration
- Partner closely with Product Management, Security Engineering, and Platform Engineering teams to integrate security capabilities directly into the Cohesity product portfolio.
- Drive the incorporation of threat intelligence, detection content, and security operations workflows into product design and development.
- Influence product architecture to improve resilience, observability, and security-by-design principles.
- Collaborate across engineering organizations to ensure secure development practices and proactive threat mitigation strategies.
Cloud Security & Platform Engineering
- Design and implement security solutions for cloud-native environments running on AWS and GCP.
- Secure large-scale Kubernetes and containerized workloads through robust architecture, automation, and monitoring.
- Evaluate and enhance platform security controls, identity management, and infrastructure protection mechanisms.
- Contribute to the development of next-generation security capabilities within Cohesity's data security platform.
WE’D LOVE TO TALK TO YOU IF YOU HAVE MANY OF THE FOLLOWING:
Required Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience in cybersecurity, detection engineering, threat hunting, security operations, or security product development.
- Deep expertise in detection engineering, threat hunting, incident response, or adversary-focused security operations.
- Strong experience developing and operationalizing advanced detection rules, behavioral analytics, and threat detection frameworks.
- Experience designing AI/ML-driven security solutions for threat detection, investigation, or response.
- Strong programming and software engineering background with proficiency in one or more languages such as Python, Go, C++, or Rust.
- Experience with Cyber Network Operations (CNO) development, offensive security tooling, or advanced security research.
- Deep understanding of Kubernetes, container security, cloud-native architectures, and distributed systems.
- Hands-on expertise securing large-scale AWS and/or GCP environments.
- Ability to work cross-functionally with Product, Engineering, and Security teams to deliver security capabilities at scale.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience building security products for SaaS or enterprise platforms.
- Knowledge of ransomware detection, data security, insider threat detection, and cyber resilience technologies.
- Familiarity with LLMs, agentic AI systems, and autonomous security operations.
- Experience integrating threat intelligence into detection and response platforms.
- Contributions to open-source security projects, research publications, or conference presentations.
