Intern - Process Engineering at Coherent Corp. in Pine Brook, NJ

Summary: Coherent Corp. is a global leader in lasers, engineered materials and networking components. They are seeking an intern to focus on creating a current Piping and Instrumentation Diagram (P&ID) of the Pine Brook Cooling Water system using software such as Solidworks, while also gaining hands-on experience and contributing to team projects. Responsibilities: - Main focus will be on creating a current Piping and Instrumentation Diagram (P&ID) of the Pine Brook Cooling Water system - Using software such as Solidworks to create the P&ID, project work might include use of Excel or JMP if statistical analysis is required - Individual will be trained on the Pine Brook diagram requirements as part of their internship - Field trace the existing cooling water system and seek guidance from team in identification of the components as needed - Individual will present their work and updated P&ID to management in a 15 minute presentation at the end of term Required Qualifications: - Candidate should at least be a rising sophomore pursuing a BS degree in mechanical or chemical engineering - Open to currently enrolled students or those who have graduated within one year of the internship start date - Excellent written and verbal communication - Team-oriented but able to work independently when needed - Adaptable and eager to learn in a fast-paced environment - Attention to detail and time management - ITAR compliance is required for this position - Must be a U.S. Person as defined by ITAR (U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident, or protected individual) - Compliance with all applicable export control regulations - All employees are required to follow the site EHS procedures and Coherent Corp.
