Summary: Coherent Corp. is a global leader in lasers and engineered materials, seeking an intern for process engineering. The intern will be responsible for designing fixtures/tooling for prototype builds, assisting senior engineers in process development, and performing Design of Experiments to solve manufacturing issues. Responsibilities: - Responsible for designing fixtures/tooling as needed for prototype build - Assist senior engineers in performing process development activities in the OSA lab - Perform Design of Experiments (DOEs) to determine optimum solutions to manufacturing issues Required Qualifications: - Must be enrolled in college per the Coherent Internship Guidelines - Capable of using Solid Works to design simple fixtures/tooling - Work effectively in a team setting as well as an individual contributor with limited supervision - All employees are required to follow the site EHS procedures and Coherent Corp. Corporate EHS standards - Ability to communicate verbally and in writing - Sitting for extended periods while working on a computer or in meetings - Use of hands and fingers for typing, writing, and handling documents - Occasional lifting of objects or materials up to 20 pounds for administrative tasks Required Skills: Solid Works Important Skills: Design of Experiments
