Summary: Coherent Corp. is a global leader in lasers and engineered materials, seeking an Intern - Mechanical Engineer to assist with the modification and improvement of facility systems. The role involves collaboration with the engineering team, project tracking, and preparing presentations summarizing project work. Responsibilities: - Assist with the modification and improvement of the AWN (Acid Waste Neutralization) system and facility leak detection system - Support capital projects and sustaining facility operation alongside the facilities and operations team - Collaboration with Equipment and Process Engineer to implement changes and schedule tool down time - Assist with engineering documentation, data analysis, and project tracking related to facility systems upgrade - Prepare and deliver a final presentation and written report summarizing project work and internship outcomes - Assist with reviewing and updating engineering drawings, system documentation, and P&IDs for facility systems Required Qualifications: - Bachelor's, Rising Senior (completed 3 years by start) - Majors: Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering - Excellent written and verbal communication - Team-oriented but able to work independently when needed - Adaptable and eager to learn in a fast-paced environment - Attention to detail and time management - On-site attendance is required - Sitting for extended periods while working on a computer or in meetings - Use of hands and fingers for typing, writing, and handling documents - Occasional lifting of objects or materials up to 20 pounds for administrative tasks - Ability to communicate verbally and in writing - All employees are required to follow the site EHS procedures and Coherent Corp.
