Summary: Coherent Corp. is a global leader in lasers, engineered materials, and networking components, seeking a motivated Data Analyst Intern to join their SiC Data Systems team. The intern will gain experience in real-world manufacturing data analysis, data visualization, and project collaboration, contributing to the development of next-generation semiconductor materials. Responsibilities: - Wide project possibilities: manufacturing KPI analysis, automated data visualization, and equipment / human error detection - Guided ownership of entire project pipeline: problem identification, process discovery, solution design, and implementation - Close collaboration with software engineers, data scientists, and business stakeholders - By the end of the internship, a prototype of the selected project is expected Required Qualifications: - Currently enrolled students or those who have graduated within one year of the internship start date - Education Level: bachelor's degree (rising senior) or master's degree - Majors: Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, Engineering, or other related STEM fields - Must be US citizen or permanent resident - Excellent written and verbal communication - Team-oriented but able to work independently when needed - Adaptable and eager to learn in a fast-paced environment - Attention to detail and time management - Must be a U.S. Person as defined by ITAR (U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident, or protected individual) - Compliance with all applicable export control regulations Preferred Qualifications: - Relevant coursework or extracurricular experience in material science or manufacturing is a plus Required Skills: SQL, Python, Microsoft Power BI Important Skills: React.js Benefits: Opportunities to connect with fellow interns and colleagues across the organization through virtual and in-person networking events, Team-building activities
