Job Description
Summary: Cohere Life, Inc. is seeking a Pool Attendant to serve as the front-line access control and guest services presence for the community pool facility. The role involves monitoring access, enforcing pool rules, and providing customer service to residents and guests.
Responsibilities:
- Control and monitor access to the pool facility during designated operating hours
- Verify resident eligibility and authorized guest access in accordance with HOA policies
- Enforce guest limits, occupancy limits, and amenity use rules
- Prevent unauthorized entry, tailgating, or misuse of pool facilities
- Ensure pool gates remain closed, secured, and operating properly
- Maintain a visible and attentive presence at the pool entrance
- Enforce all posted pool rules, community standards, and HOA policies in a professional and courteous manner
- Prohibit restricted items or activities such as glass containers, pets, improper attire, or unsafe behavior
- Monitor patron behavior to identify and address unsafe or prohibited activities
- Issue verbal warnings for minor violations and escalate repeated or serious issues per procedure
- De-escalate minor conflicts between patrons when possible and appropriate
- Maintain situational awareness of pool deck activity and general safety conditions
- Identify and report unsafe conditions, damaged equipment, or sanitation concerns
- Notify emergency services or management as required
- Complete incident, violation, or observation reports in accordance with established procedures
- Greet residents and guests in a courteous, professional, and welcoming manner
- Answer general questions regarding pool rules, hours of operation, and amenity policies
- Serve as a visible, approachable, and helpful representative of the community
- Balance rule enforcement with a service-oriented and respectful approach
- Perform routine light cleaning of the pool entrance and deck areas
- Pick up trash and debris
- Straighten pool furniture and seating as needed
- Monitor trash receptacles and notify management when service is needed
- Notify management when restroom or poolside supplies are low
- Conduct visual inspections of gates, signage, fencing, and furniture at the start and end of shifts
- Ensure required signage is present, visible, and in good condition
- Communicate daily observations, maintenance needs, or concerns to management or the designated supervisor
- Follow all site-specific post orders, policies, and operational procedures
Required Qualifications:
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Experience in customer service, hospitality, sales or similar discipline
- Proficiency Microsoft Office Suite; familiarity with database management tools
- Professional demeanor with the ability to enforce rules calmly, consistently, and respectfully
- Strong communication, customer service, and conflict management skills
- Dependable attendance, punctuality, and attention to detail
- Ability to remain alert, attentive, and observant throughout assigned shifts
- Ability to balance safety, access control, and hospitality responsibilities
- The pool attendant should expect to work a 6-hour shift, including evenings, weekends and all summer holidays
- All work performed by pool attendant will be outdoors and may require being in all types of weather
- Pool attendant must be comfortable being on feet for long periods of time and able to lift at least 30 pounds on a frequent basis
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience in security, access control, concierge, porter, or customer service roles is helpful but not required
- Knowledge of residential real estate and/or home building is desirable but not required
