Sr. Director II, Social & Community at Coca-Cola in US - GA - Atlanta
Job Description
Sr. Director II, Social & Community
Location: US - GA - Atlanta
Job Description Summary:
Role Purpose
The Sr. Director II, Social & Community will set the enterprise ambition and operating model for how NAOU builds brands through social, community and creator-led marketing. This leader will elevate social from a channel discipline to a modern growth capability that connects culture, creators, communities, content, commerce and measurement across the full IMX ecosystem.
A critical mandate of the role is to build and operationalize a creator-led way of working for NAOU: defining where creators play strategically, how brands brief and partner with creators, how creator content moves across paid, owned, earned and commerce environments, and how performance, advocacy and community impact are measured. The role requires a transformational leader who can set strategy, build capability, clarify governance, unlock cross-functional adoption and scale new ways of working across brands, agencies and partners.
Strategic Outcomes This Role Owns
A clear NAOU social and community vision that modernizes brand building around culture, conversation, creators and community participation.
A creator-led operating model that defines strategy, governance, briefing standards, partner roles, content workflows, measurement and decision rights.
A stronger bridge between brand storytelling and social-native content, ensuring creative ideas are built for the behaviors, communities and formats of each platform.
A more accountable social ecosystem with sharper KPIs across community health, advocacy, cultural relevance, content effectiveness, creator performance and business impact.
A high-performing team and agency model built for speed, experimentation, social safety, learning and scalable excellence.
What You’ll Do for Us
• Vision & Social Transformation: Define and articulate a bold, future-forward vision for NAOU social and community that positions social as a strategic growth capability, not only a communications channel. Lead the transformation of social into a cultural engine for brand relevance, consumer participation, advocacy and business growth.
• Creator-Led Way of Working: Build the strategic framework, operating model and governance for creator-led marketing across NAOU. Define how creators are used across the funnel, when brands should work with creators versus influencers, how creator briefs are developed, how creator content is activated across paid, owned, earned and commerce environments, and how learnings are scaled across brands.
• Creator Strategy, Governance & Measurement: Establish clear standards for creator selection, role definition, briefing, content rights, approvals, brand safety, disclosure, measurement and optimization. Partner with Brand, Creative, Media, Legal, Procurement and agency teams to create a consistent, accountable and scalable creator ecosystem.
• Community-Centric Brand Building: Build and nurture vibrant brand communities by embedding human insights, cultural foresight, social listening and audience-first planning into social strategy. Ensure social content and community engagement reflect authentic storytelling, two-way participation and genuine consumer connection.
• Content Excellence & Platform Fluency: Champion fit-for-platform creative that reflects how people actually discover, engage, share and participate in culture across each social environment. Drive stronger creative standards for short-form video, creator content, community response, real-time engagement and social-first storytelling.
• Social Safety & Brand Protection: Develop and operationalize best-in-class social safety protocols, escalation routines, listening signals and response standards. Protect our brands through proactive issue management, rapid response and clear decision-making across platforms, agencies and stakeholders.
• Operating Model & Change Management: Lead implementation of the social transformation model across NAOU, including roles, workflows, agency interfaces, governance processes and capability-building. Drive adoption of new creator-led and community-led ways of working while improving speed, quality and accountability of social execution.
• Cross-Functional Integration: Partner closely with Brand, Creative, Media, Design, Commerce, Legal, Procurement, Consumer Insights, Data and IMX teams to integrate social and creator strategies into broader brand campaigns, retail moments, experiential activations and always-on engagement models.
• Measurement, Learning & Business Impact: Establish KPIs and learning agendas that connect social and creator activity to community health, advocacy, content performance, cultural relevance, media efficiency, consumer engagement and business outcomes. Use analytics, social intelligence and experimentation to optimize strategy and communicate impact to senior stakeholders.
• Team & Talent Leadership: Build, lead and develop a high-performing team across social strategy, community management, creator strategy, analytics and content excellence. Foster a culture of innovation, experimentation, social fluency, accountability and continuous learning.
Qualifications & Requirements
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Digital Media or related field required; MBA or other relevant advanced degree is a plus.
• Experience: 12+ years of experience in social media strategy, creator marketing, brand marketing, digital communications or integrated marketing, with a proven track record leading large-scale transformation and building modern social/community capabilities.
• Creator & Social Expertise: Deep understanding of today’s creator economy, creator/influencer operating models, platform behaviors, content formats, community management, social analytics, paid social amplification and emerging social technologies.
• Strategic Leadership: Ability to define vision, simplify complexity, establish decision rights and translate strategy into scalable operating models across brands, functions, agencies and external partners.
• Change Management & Influence: Demonstrated ability to influence senior stakeholders, align cross-functional teams, lead through ambiguity and embed new ways of working across a complex organization.
• Measurement Orientation: Strong ability to define KPIs, interpret performance insights, connect social and creator activity to business outcomes, and use learnings to improve future work.
• Team Leadership: Experience leading and developing teams and agency partners with a focus on clarity, accountability, speed, experimentation and capability-building.
• Cultural Fluency: Genuine passion for culture, creativity, consumer connection and community participation, with the ability to keep brands relevant in fast-moving social environments.
Leadership Profile
• Future-forward marketer who understands how social, creators, media, commerce and community shape modern brand growth.
• Builder of operating models, not just campaigns. Able to clarify “who owns what,” where decisions are made and how work scales.
• Consumer-first and culture-first leader who can protect brand equities while enabling faster, more participatory creative models.
• Trusted cross-functional partner who can unite brand, IMX, media, creative, legal, procurement and agency teams behind a shared way of working.
