Job Description
Summary: CNA Insurance is seeking a Financial Analyst to join their Corporate Actuarial Accounting & Reporting Team. In this role, you will assist in the development and implementation of management reporting and analysis, providing crucial financial data and reports to support management's decision-making processes.
Responsibilities:
- Performs a combination of duties in accordance with departmental guidelines: Assembles and compiles relevant financial and or operational data as well as investigates and analyzes data variances and anomalies for reporting and budgeting purposes
- Assists in contributing to quantifying the financial impact of business opportunities and issues and participates in financial modeling for future acquisitions, expense management as well as assisting in the development of long range financial forecasts and other projects
- Produces periodic financial analysis and/or other tables and reports for management
- May run programs and work with programming staff to create extracts from processing systems and assist in the automation of daily operation reporting for management
- Participates in assigned special projects
- May perform additional duties as assigned
Required Qualifications:
- Knowledge of corporate and departmental accounting/finance practices, procedures and principles
- Understanding of GAAP and/or statutory accounting principles
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills
- Must be results oriented with the ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
- Good interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively interact with staff at all levels
- Detail oriented with strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize and complete projects effectively
- Effective verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate business and technical information clearly with management and staff
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, accounting systems and applications and other business-related software systems
- Bachelor's Degree, preferably in accounting or finance, or equivalent
- Up to two years of related work experience in finance or accounting
Preferred Qualifications:
- New accounting grads will be considered and encouraged to apply
