Job Description
Summary: Cloudflare is on a mission to help build a better Internet, and they are seeking an Operations and AI Innovation Intern to modernize workflows by integrating AI-driven automation. The intern will audit manual workflows, develop AI agents, and design automated systems to enhance operational efficiency.
Responsibilities:
- Audit current manual workflows to identify opportunities for automation
- Map out complex business processes (such as internal privacy and vendor assessments, data subject requests, etc.) and provide recommendations on where AI can drive maximum efficiency
- Develop and refine AI agents and “Gems” to automate manual tasks
- This includes prompt engineering, defining agent personas, and iteratively testing outputs to ensure they meet quality standards
- Define and develop data queries and dashboards to track key performance indicators and analyze operational metrics using tools such as Google Looker Studio or Tableau
- Design and deploy automated triage and response systems for high-volume inbound requests received through emails, ticketing systems, and other shared departmental channels
- Help map internal data sources, such as internal Wikis, Sales answer banks, and technical documentation into the automation knowledge base to improve response accuracy
Required Qualifications:
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in a technical field
- Technical Curiosity: Experience using LLM interfaces (such as Gemini) and prompt engineering, paired with a strong interest in the emerging field of AI agents
- Problem-Solving Mindset: Ability to analyze manual processes and envision an automated solution
- Communication: Ability to distill complex legal or technical requirements into clear actionable insights
- Intellectual Curiosity: A natural drive to explore new technologies and a 'figure it out' mindset
- Process Documentation: Ability to draft clear technical specifications and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure automated workflows and reporting systems are sustainable and easy for others to maintain
- Familiarity with API integrations, Opencode or Windsurf
- Ability to commit to a minimum 12 week summer internship
- In office 3-5 days a week in the Washington D.C. office
