Key Responsibilities:
We are seeking a Plant Assistant Operations Manager Biochar to set up and manage the day-to-day operations of our biochar production facility in Gudlupet. This role is ideal for someone with hands-on experience in plant operations, manufacturing, or agro-processing, who is comfortable managing production, equipment, people, and quality on the plant floor.
- Set up plant operations, including logistical arrangements, production workflows, processes, and SOPs.
- Manage daily plant operations, including feedstock intake, production processes, and output storage.
- Monitor and achieve production targets across volume, yield, and quality.
- Oversee routine equipment upkeep and troubleshoot equipment and electrical issues to minimise downtime.
- Supervise plant operators and daily-wage/contract workers, including shift planning, attendance, and work allocation.
- Conduct regular QA/QC checks on biochar output, including moisture, quality, and batch consistency.
- Maintain accurate daily production records and provide regular updates on plant operations.
- Report production metrics, operational issues, equipment breakdowns, and other key updates to the Equilibrium HQ team.
Ideal Candidate Profile:
- Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or an equivalent technical qualification.
- 26 years of experience managing factory/plant operations, manufacturing, agro-processing, or similar production units.
- Hands-on experience with electrical panels, control panels, motors, wiring, and equipment troubleshooting.
- Experience supervising plant operators, technicians, and daily-wage/contract workers.
- Strong understanding of plant operations, equipment maintenance, and production processes.
- Ability to set up and implement workflows, SOPs, and systems for efficient plant operations.
- Experience setting up or commissioning a new plant or production unit.
- Experience in agro-processing, biomass processing, manufacturing, or similar industries.
- Experience working with furnaces, kilns, dryers, biomass, or other thermal processing equipment.
- Experience in developing and implementing production and maintenance SOPs.
- Proficiency in Kannada is mandatory.
- Basic working knowledge of English for communication and reporting.
- Basic proficiency in MS Excel / MS Office for maintaining production records and reports.
