Job Description
Summary: Cleveland Clinic is a leading healthcare organization dedicated to transforming patient experience. The Pharmacy Intern – Ambulatory supports outpatient pharmacy operations, providing customer service and gaining exposure to clinical workflows while assisting with prescription preparation and inventory management.
Responsibilities:
- Review and assess medication orders to identify, prevent, and resolve potential and actual drug related issues
- Recommend formulary alternatives when appropriate
- Compound and prepare medications for delivery to patient care areas
- Provide drug information and education to medical staff and patients
- Communicate with physicians and other clinicians as necessary to facilitate care
Required Qualifications:
- Enrolled in an accredited College of Pharmacy program and meets education requirements to qualify for intern license in the State of Ohio OR International pharmacy experience which meets the requirements to qualify for the Foreign Graduate Pharmacy Intern License
- Current State Board of Pharmacy Intern License (PH/INT) before your start date
- Typical physical demands include ability to perform job while standing, reaching, stretching and sitting for prolonged periods; manual dexterity sufficient to perform computer functions of job
