Job Description
Summary: CLA is a top 10 national professional services firm dedicated to creating opportunities for clients, people, and communities. They are seeking an Associate, Deal Services to perform financial Quality of Earnings, due diligence, and financial analysis for clients involved in mergers and acquisitions.
Responsibilities:
- Performs ad hoc analysis under tight deadlines
- Performs original financial statement modeling with a high degree of accuracy
- Writes reports on findings for communication to the client and their advisors
- Clients may be in any industry with a need for a technical specialist or may be industry focused
- Service specialists focus development within a particular service (and sometimes a secondary service)
- These individuals possess a deep knowledge of a service first and foremost, which transcends multiple industries or one particular industry
- They gain knowledge on the full suite of service capabilities CLA can provide
- Performs the detail financial due diligence
- Collects and analyzes financial data to detect errors in financial reporting
- Summarizes key accounting policies and detects key issues which may impact transaction value or client risk
- Helps build detailed analysis and reports based on findings to be delivered to the client under tight deadlines while maintaining highest quality standards
- Supports multiple engagements on time and within budget, identifying issues and communicating progress and results to supervisors
- Completes assigned portions of engagements with consistency and accuracy and within tight time frames
- May begin to direct small quality of earnings projects at the two-year level
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field required
Preferred Qualifications:
- Exposure to financial statement preparation, audits, and reviews
- Working towards CFA, CPA or other post-graduate degree or relevant industry/service certification
- General knowledge of accounting principles and/or regulations impacting each engagement or project, financial markets, analysis and reporting of financial data
- Understanding of internal software systems including Pfx Engagement, Microsoft Teams, and Microsoft Windows and Office
