We’re Civica and we make software that helps deliver critical services for citizens all around the world. From local to state government, to education, to health and care, over 5,000 public bodies across the globe use our software to help provide critical services to over 100 million citizens.

Our aspiration is to be a GovTech champion everywhere we work around the globe, supporting the needs of citizens and those that serve them every day. Building on 21 years of continuous growth and success, we're at a pivotal point on our journey to realise that aspiration.

As a company, we’re passionate about what we do and the citizens we help to serve. If you too would like to help champion the use of technology in public services, to improve outcomes for citizens and public sector organisations, then Civica is the right place for you. Ready to win new business and help shape what comes next?

We’re looking for a Business Development Manager who enjoys finding opportunities, building relationships and turning conversations into new business.

Civica is in the middle of real change. We’re not perfect and there is plenty still to do, but as a PE-backed business we’re investing in our products and growth. That creates a genuine opportunity to have a say, challenge how things are done and help build something better.

You’ll create quality pipeline, qualify opportunities and keep deals moving by opening doors and building trusted relationships with senior customers. You don’t need public sector or technology experience, but you do need a solid sales track record, commercial discipline and the ability to learn quickly.

This role can be based in Melbourne or Sydney, with an expectation that you’ll work from the office at least two days each week.

You’ll also have a structured onboarding program, supported by our Sales Enablement team, to help you understand our products, customers and sales approach.

What success looks like

Sales experience matters, but so does how you work.

• Driven to create and convert new business opportunities.
• Accountable for pipeline health, activity and results.
• Customer-focused, with strong discovery and qualification skills.
• Consistent in driving opportunities forward and maintaining momentum.
• Resilient, adaptable and comfortable navigating challenges.
• Trusted by colleagues and customers alike through a collaborative and authentic approach.

Why join now? This isn’t a finished story. It’s a chance to join a business investing in its products and future, with plenty of opportunity for good people to make their mark.
