The Hearing Officer will conduct hearings to adjudicate parking ticket disputes and communicate decisions based on evidence and testimony. Responsibilities: - Responsibilities include administrative review and adjudication of disputed parking tickets - The successful candidate will be able to evaluate documents and testimony to, within applicable law, render decisions and communicate the decision to the party making the appeal - All hearings require the use of the parking ticket data base for research of imaged documents, photographs, the transactional history, the citation itself and the entry of the Hearing Officer’s decision to uphold, reduce or dismiss any charges - Ability to quickly obtain information from a relational data base; have good personal computer and keyboard skills - Ability to familiarize, understand and retain knowledge of Title 12 of the Philadelphia Traffic Code - Ability to note decisions in a clear, concise language which are obtained as part of public record Required Qualifications: - A high school diploma; Bachelor's Degree a plus - Excellent customer service and communication skills - Ability to work and make sound decisions in a stressful and very fast paced environment Required Skills: Parking ticket database usage, Relational database research, Title 12 of the Philadelphia Traffic Code knowledge, Document evaluation, Testimony evaluation, Decision documentation Benefits: Transportation: City employees get unlimited FREE public transportation all year long through SEPTA’s Key Advantage program.
