Minimum Requirements:
Education:
- Two-year college program or equivalent combinations resulting in accumulation of similar knowledge or skills.
Experience:
- 2 years experience. Previous experience required in the same or similar previous positions.
Physical Demands:
- Work requires heavy physical exertion and effort.
Licenses and Certifications:
- Valid Arizona Class “D” Driver’s License upon hire.
- IMSA Traffic Signal Level I Certification at the time of hire.
- Must obtain IMSA Traffic Signal Level II and IMSA Roadway Lighting Level I within one year of hire.
- IMSA Fiber Optic Certification may be required within 2 years of hire.

Peoria’s Public Works Department has an excellent opportunity for an experienced traffic signal maintenance professional. We are currently recruiting for a Traffic Signal Technician Specialist to work with a team to service and maintain the City of Peoria’s growing inventory of 140 signalized intersections.
The ideal candidate for this position will have:
- The willingness to adapt to new technologies and City specific standards.
- The ability to work within a team setting or carry out assignments independently.
- Possess advanced technical skills and specialized knowledge to assist in the installation, maintenance, and repair of traffic signals and equipment.
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in traffic signal maintenance or related fields (see Job requirements).
- The ability to work in extreme environments to service assets throughout the City.
- A great attitude, and strong work ethic to succeed in the Streets Division.
