Job Description
The New York City Fire Pension Fund seeks a full-time Clerical Associate Level 4/Beneficiary Processor in the Member Services Unit, reporting directly to the Unit Supervisor or his/her designee. Under direct supervision, the incumbent will perform the following duties:
- Review beneficiary forms to ensure proper completion (i.e. beneficiary forms are signed and notarization is valid, primary and contingent beneficiaries are clearly identified and differentiated, percentages add up to exactly 100%, etc.)
- Enter properly completed forms in EUPS and mail acknowledgement letters to members
- Create patch sheets for properly completed beneficiary forms and transfer forms to Document Control
- Notify members who have submitted improperly completed beneficiary forms and perform follow-ups as needed
- Maintain a log of members who have been contacted regarding improperly completed beneficiary forms
- Assist with the completion and notarization of beneficiary forms completed during Probationary Firefighter Seminars and Retirement Paperwork Sessions
- Respond to phone calls, emails, and written correspondence regarding changing or confirming beneficiaries on file
- Upholding security protocols regarding the protection, processing, and dissemination of beneficiary information
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the Member Services Supervisor
Required: Must be a NYS Public Notary or a Commissioner of Deeds

Qualifications
Qualification Requirements A four-year high school diploma or its educational equivalent approved by a State's department of education or a recognized accrediting organization and one year of satisfactory clerical experience. Skills Requirement Keyboard familiarity with the ability to type at a minimum of 100 key strokes (20 words) per minute.
