Job Description
Summary: The City of Baltimore is seeking an IT Portfolio & Operations Analyst Intern to support the Department of Housing and Community Development’s technology portfolio management and operations. The role involves documenting workflows, analyzing operational data, improving business processes, and assisting in governance and policy development efforts across departmental systems and programs.
Responsibilities:
- Document existing business workflows, operational procedures, and system interactions across DHCD programs
- Assist with process improvement initiatives by identifying inefficiencies and proposing improvements to workflows and procedures
- Support data analysis efforts by compiling, cleaning, and analyzing operational data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement
- Help develop and maintain process documentation, diagrams, and knowledge resources for internal staff
- Assist in the development of governance frameworks, standards, and policies related to technology, project management, and data management
- Support portfolio tracking and reporting
- Assist with project coordination activities, including meeting notes, action tracking, and progress reporting
- Contribute to the development of reports, dashboards, and analytical summaries to support decision-making
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand operational challenges and help develop structured solutions
Required Qualifications:
- Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in public policy, Business Administration, Information Systems, Data Analytics, Computer Science, or a related field
- Strong academic interest in organizational operations, data analysis, technology management, or public sector innovation
- Experience with data analysis tools
- Strong writing and organizational skills
- Interest in government operations, technology modernization, or process improvement
