Summary: The City of Baltimore is seeking a Data Analytics & Data Science Intern to support the BCIT Enterprise Applications team. The intern will assist with data analysis, reporting, and monitoring activities related to the City's enterprise systems, providing hands-on experience with enterprise technology and government IT operations. Responsibilities: - Assist with analyzing system and integration data to identify trends, patterns, and potential issues - Support development of reports and dashboards used by BCIT teams to monitor system performance - Review system logs and data files to help identify data quality issues or processing errors - Assist with data visualization using tools such as Power BI, Excel, or similar reporting platforms - Work with team members to document data processes and reporting workflows - Support research and testing of tools that can improve analytics and reporting capabilities - Participate in team meetings and present findings from data analysis activities Required Qualifications: - Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Technology, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field - Basic experience with programming languages such as Python or SQL - Familiarity with data analysis tools such as Excel, Power BI, Tableau, or similar tools - Interest in data analytics, enterprise systems, and technology operations - Strong attention to detail and organizational skills - Basic knowledge of data analysis concepts and methods - Familiarity with programming or scripting languages such as Python, SQL, or R - Ability to work with large datasets and identify patterns or trends - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills - Ability to communicate technical information clearly in written and verbal form - Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment Preferred Qualifications: - Experience with Microsoft Excel or data visualization tools is preferred Required Skills: Python, SQL, R, Data analysis, Data visualization, Microsoft Excel, Power BI, Tableau, Analytical skills
