Job Description
Summary: The City of Atlanta Department of Watershed Management is seeking summer interns to join their Information Management team. Interns will perform various administrative and project duties, engage in on-the-job training, and contribute to the department's operational goals while gaining valuable experience in municipal government.
Responsibilities:
- Performs various and diverse administrative and/or project duties depending on specific department and job assignment
- Engages in on-the-job training on operational policies and work procedures to attain the necessary talents that allow the incumbent to contribute to the work being produced by the organizational unit to which assigned
- Collects information/data
- Performs research, compiles information, and prepares reports and documentation
- May prepare presentations for staff members
- Attends project team meetings
- May do filing and other clerical duties in addition to administrative/project assignments
Required Qualifications:
- Pursuing an Associate's or Bachelor's degree in an appropriate discipline for the department in which the person is an intern
- Some knowledge of specific professional functions to which assigned, e.g. Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Business Administration, Human Resources, User Experience Design, Data Analytics, Project Management, Accounting, etc
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, planning, organization, presentation, verbal, and written communication
- Ideal candidates can quickly assimilate new information into a work process to achieve the desired objective outcome, independently collect information needed, and transpose it into a finished product
Preferred Qualifications:
- Pursuing an Associate's or Bachelor's degree in an appropriate discipline for the department in which the person is an intern
