Job Description
Summary: City of Atlanta is seeking an Intern for the Architectural Designer I position within the Department of Enterprise Assets Management. The role involves assisting in developing real property and facilities inventory systems, coordinating contracts, and providing administrative support related to city property management.
Responsibilities:
- Assist with tours property and grounds daily to ensure cleanliness, equipment systems and life safety systems are operational
- Support the scheduling and coordination of property-related maintenance as needed
- Assist prospective tenants by providing information on services offered through the City’s leasing facilities and determining compatibility with tenant needs
- Verifies 501c3 status, applicable licensing, registration with the Georgia Secretary of State Office, financials and rental history
- Assists in the preparation of lease agreements, amendments, contracts and legislative documents regarding city property and related matters, including typing, reviewing, photocopying and distributing to appropriate personnel and/or departments
- Support the reviews of tenant compliance with contract terms and recommends procedures to be taken to ensure adherence with contract stipulations, all applicable laws, codes and regulations
- Types various correspondence, legislative documents and legal contracts utilizing computer equipment including reviewing and correcting incorrectly entered data
- Assist in processing various contracts for approval and execution, and forwards documents to appropriate personnel for review and approval
- Provides administrative support in the development and implementation of a comprehensive real property and facilities inventory system
- Maintains files on, lease agreements, amendments, general maintenance contract, and renovation contracts
- May perform other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications:
- Must be pursuing a degree in Real Estate or related field
- Ability to read and understand contracts
- Proficiency in Sketch Up, Adobe Photoshop, Publisher, Microsoft Word, and Excel
- Language: English proficiency
- Demonstrated desire to expand skills into new areas
- Enthusiasm and strong self-motivation
- Strong prioritization and time management skills, with a high degree of flexibility
- Self-motivated and strong time management skills to successfully work on multiple projects
- Demonstrates effective, clear, and professional written and oral communication
Preferred Qualifications:
- Achieving a degree/certification in Real Estate
- Previous commercial real estate experience
- Previous right of way or leasing experience
- Previous internship experience
