Job Description
Summary: Cisco is a leading technology company revolutionizing how data and infrastructure connect. They are seeking a Software QA Engineer II to ensure the highest software quality through systematic testing and automation, while collaborating closely with product managers and development teams.
Responsibilities:
- Play a vital role in the secure design, build, and testing of software products through systematic testing and automation
- Influence the quality of products by contributing to CI/CD processes and defining quality gates
- Provide risk assessment and root cause analysis to improve product functionality and reliability
- Mentor peers and interns, helping to grow the next generation of technical talent
- Collaborate across teams to implement and document best practices that advance end-to-end product quality
Required Qualifications:
- Completion within the past 3 years, or current enrollment with expected completion within 12 months, of a certification or relevant degree program (e.g., Associate's, Apprenticeship, Boot Camp, or Certification in a specialized program + 1 year of relevant experience, High School Diploma + 2 years of relevant experience) or Bachelor's + 0 years of relevant experience
- Proficient knowledge and hands-on experience with current technologies in the primary technical domain
- Demonstrated expertise in developing and executing software design plans, automated scripts, and quality assurance programs
- Experience in CI/CD environments, including defining and enforcing quality gates
- Ability to work independently, provide mentorship, and collaborate effectively within and across teams
Preferred Qualifications:
- Advanced knowledge of secure coding principles and threat modeling for software features
- Proven experience designing and deploying solutions to test reliability, availability, latency, and performance
- Skilled in implementing automation frameworks and conducting complex testing to uncover product defects
- Strong background in root cause analysis and recommending corrective actions for software issues
- Experience leading projects, mentoring team members, and contributing to cross-functional initiatives
