Job Description
Summary: Cisco is a leading technology company that is revolutionizing how data and infrastructure connect. They are seeking a Mechanical Engineer I to design and analyze mechanical systems, conduct feasibility studies, and support the preparation of detailed designs and prototypes.
Responsibilities:
- Design and analyze mechanical systems, equipment and packaging
- Conduct feasibility studies and testing on new and modified Cisco designs
- Directly support personnel in the preparation of detailed design, design testing and prototype fabrication
- Provide design information to drafting for packaging documentation
Required Qualifications:
- Completion within the past 3 years, or current enrollment with expected completion within 12 months, of a certification or relevant degree program (e.g., Associates, Apprenticeship, Boot Camp, or Certification in a specialized program + 1 year of relevant experience, High School Diploma + 2 years of relevant experience) or Bachelors + 0 years of relevant experience. Relevant fields include: Mechanical Engineering or a related program, or holders of equivalent academic certifications
- Demonstrated understanding of mechanical engineering principles
- Proficiency in 3D CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, Creo, NX)
- Familiarity with programming/scripting languages (e.g., Python, MATLAB, C++) for automation or data analysis is a plus
- Able to legally live and work in the country for which you're applying, without visa support or sponsorship
Preferred Qualifications:
- Strong ability to learn and adapt to new technologies
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot design and manufacturing issues
- Experience in establishing and sustaining excellent relationships with an extended team
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Experience with basic simulation/analysis tools (e.g., FEA, CFD, ANSYS)
