Software Engineering Advisor- Hybrid
Location: Plano, TX
Cigna-Evernorth Services Inc. seeks a Software Engineering Advisor for the Plano, TX location responsible for Project Enablement & Process Optimization, including gap analyses to identify opportunities for process reengineering, enhancing user experience, and improving system performance.
Responsibilities:
• Develop application profiles, enterprise class structures, organizational layers, user access controls, and routing logic strategies.
• Technical Governance & Risk Mitigation responsibilities include establishing and maintaining reusable technical assets and enforcing coding standards to align with functional and technical requirements.
• Perform detailed risk assessments to support smooth change control and implementation processes.
• Ensure effective communication of release changes to all stakeholders.
• Lead requirement grooming sessions with business users and stakeholders.
• Conduct technical feasibility studies to validate proposed solutions.
• Prepare comprehensive design documents for Pega workflows, system integrations, interface specifications, exception\ handling, and failover/retry strategies.
• Manage sprint planning activities including user story sizing, velocity estimation, backlog grooming, and task assignment.
• Execute user story development, unit testing, defect resolution, and deployment activities.
• Provide support for QA, UAT, release planning, production deployment, and post-go-live operation.
• Hybrid work schedule
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer and Information Science or related field and 5 years of experience in any Pega system architecture role with healthcare prior authorization.
• All qualifying experience must include: creating responsive and intuitive user interfaces using Pega’s design system;
• Building and customizing UI components like sections, harnesses, and layouts;
• Applying consistent styling using skin rules and CSS overrides;
• Ensuring compliance with accessibility standards and supporting multi-language interfaces;
• Designing and implementing case types, stages, and processes;
• Process modeling, including building workflows using flow rules, subprocesses, and decision points;
• Implementing decision tables, decision trees, and declarative rules;
• Data transforms, including managing data manipulation and orchestration logic;
• Integrating with external systems using REST, SOAP, MQ, JMS, and other protocols;
• Configuring data pages for data retrieval and mapping external data sources;
• Implementing OAuth, SAML, and basic authentication for secure integrations;
• Data modeling, including designing class structures, data types, and relationships;
• Database configuration, including managing database tables, views, and optimizing queries;
• Creating reports, dashboards, and leveraging Pega’s reporting capabilities;
• Managing parallel development using branches;
• Automating CI/CD pipelines for Pega applications;
• Understanding rule resolution hierarchy and managing rule versions;
• Using Pega unit testing, tracer, clipboard, and live UI tools;
• Enterprise class structure, including designing scalable and reusable class structures;
• Application and access control, including configuring application rules, access groups, roles, and privileges;
• Creating and managing reusable assets like rulesets, components, and frameworks;
• Analyzing and improving application performance using PAL, DB trace, and AES;
• Agile methodologies, including sprint planning, backlog grooming, user story creation, and velocity tracking;
• Collaborating with stakeholders to define and refine requirements;
• Preparing design documents, release notes, and stakeholder updates.
• Pega System Architect certification required
