Job Description
Summary: Cigna Healthcare is seeking a Business Analytics Summer Intern to support the Evernorth Lab, Cigna’s client-facing data and innovation center. The intern will work on real-world analytic initiatives, gaining hands-on experience with technology solutions that drive meaningful change in healthcare.
Responsibilities:
- Work on real technology projects that support healthcare delivery at enterprise scale—applying your skills to solve problems that improve how people access, experience, and receive care
- Partner with data professionals and mentors to build, test, and refine technology solutions while learning how cross‑functional teams collaborate in a real business environment
- Grow your technical and professional skills through a thoughtfully designed intern experience that includes hands‑on learning, mentorship, leadership exposure, and career development programming
- Build lasting connections with fellow interns and leaders through an inclusive, energetic community that values teamwork, diverse perspectives, and shared learning
- Data preparation, QA, and refreshes for Lab analytics, demos, and pilots
- Dashboard updates, trend analysis, and visualization support for client experiences
- Research and synthesis for new Lab topics, AI pilots, and innovation use cases
- Documentation and standardization to improve repeatability and scalability of Lab assets
- Technical support, including building and maintaining digital signage and interactive experiences
Required Qualifications:
- Currently pursuing a bachelor's in Computer Science, Business Analytics or related majors
- Foundational technical knowledge in one or more technology areas such as coding, data analysis concepts, systems or emerging technologies—with the ability to learn and apply new technical concepts in a hands‑on, project‑based environment
- Exposure to applied technology work through internships, co‑ops, research, coursework, academic projects, hackathons, or capstones, with experience working on projects involving problem‑solving, iteration, and collaboration—either independently or as part of a team
- Demonstrates an AI‑forward mindset, including comfort using AI‑powered tools to support learning, analysis, or technical development, and an awareness of the responsible application of artificial intelligence and automation in real‑world technology environments
- Demonstrates leadership, initiative, or ownership through academic, professional, campus, or extracurricular involvement; shows adaptability, curiosity, and a growth mindset when exploring new technology areas; communicates effectively in team settings; and is committed to contributing to an inclusive, respectful, and collaborative culture
