What you'll be doing
You will be joining the Optimization & Process Engineering Team within Infrastructure and Modernization. As a Process Engineering Consultant, you will support end-to-end process and re-engineering projects, implementing process improvements that enhance client experience and drive profitability across the bank. Drawing on your developing expertise, you will contribute to key initiatives that improve processes impacting our clients. By leveraging data analysis skills, you will help identify pain points and recommend actionable solutions to optimize processes and deliver meaningful results. You will collaborate closely with your team to plan, develop, and implement process strategies that contribute to building the bank of the future. You will also have the opportunity to support process improvement initiatives within Capital Markets, working alongside business partners to streamline trade lifecycle workflows and operational processes that underpin our markets businesses.
At CIBC we enable the work environment most optimal for you to thrive in your role. You'll have the flexibility to manage your work activities within a hybrid work arrangement where you'll spend 2-3 days per week on-site, while other days will be remote.
How you'll succeed
- Conducting process assessments – Perform ongoing process reviews to identify issues early and recommend solutions to business challenges. Stay current on best practices and industry knowledge to identify process improvements that will create a best-in-class client experience. Support assessments within Capital Markets operations, including areas such as trade settlement, reconciliation, and post-trade processing.
- Presenting recommendations – Provide feedback and advice on projects that will improve processes and resolve systematic issues. Consider business needs and make practical, data-driven recommendations for continuous improvement. Clearly communicate findings to stakeholders at varying levels of seniority.
- Process Optimization & Change Management – Support initiatives to enhance business operating leverage by identifying and implementing opportunities for increased efficiency and effectiveness. Assist in monitoring and reporting on the impact of process improvements to ensure sustained value delivery and alignment with strategic goals. Support change management activities related to new processes, tools, and tracking systems to ensure smooth adoption across teams.
- Leadership skills – Use your growing expertise in process engineering methodologies and project management to contribute to and lead components of projects and initiatives. Proactively gather data, information, and stakeholder feedback to provide informed guidance. Maintain a collaborative work environment and support your team in resolving problems as they arise.
- Interpersonal relations – Demonstrate effective communication skills and present clearly and concisely using relevant examples or illustrations. Build support for process improvement recommendations by engaging stakeholders and fostering strong working relationships across business units.

- You can demonstrate exposure to process improvement methodologies – An LSS Yellow Belt or Green Belt is an asset.
