• Monitor legislative, regulatory, and administrative developments affecting investment funds and investors.
• Assist with audits, regulatory reviews, and information requests involving tax matters.
• Partner with legal, compliance, finance, operations, and product teams to identify and address tax risks while supporting business objectives.
• Participate in strategic initiatives, fund launches, reorganizations, and product changes to ensure tax and compliance considerations are appropriately addressed.

What you will bring:

• CPA, CA, CPA (Tax), LL.B., J.D., or equivalent professional designation.
• 7+ years of relevant tax experience, preferably within investment funds, asset management, financial services, public accounting, or a tax law practice.
• Strong understanding of Canadian income tax rules applicable to investment funds and fund investors.
• Experience with tax compliance, governance, controls, and risk management processes.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a collaborative environment.

The Ideal Candidate

• Has a strong understanding of tax governance, compliance, and risk management.
• Takes a practical and business-oriented approach to problem solving.
• Works well with others and builds strong relationships across functions.
• Exercises sound judgment and can balance technical considerations with business objectives.
• Is organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing complex processes.
• Communicates effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Is collaborative, approachable, and team-oriented.
