Job Description
Summary: CHOC Children's is dedicated to providing exceptional and innovative care for children's health. The Clinical Laboratory Scientist II will support the development and implementation of new diagnostic assays, perform assay and equipment validation, and ensure quality and regulatory compliance.
Responsibilities:
- Supports the development and implementation of new diagnostic assays
- Working independently under director's guidance, performs assay and equipment validation
- Authors standard operating procedure and develops training and competency documents
- Ensures quality and regulatory compliance
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum one (1) year of Clinical Laboratory experience
- Bachelor degree - Biological Science
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills; interpersonal relationship and collaboration skills
- Excellent analytical, interpersonal, and organization skills; excellent critical thinking, judgment, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to speak, read, write, and understand English effectively at a level appropriate for the safe and effective performance of the job
- Proficient knowledge of computer systems and software used in functional area
- Strong attention to detail, vigilance, poise, and composure in stressful situations
- Clinical Lab Scientist-CA (CLS); Limited Licensed CLS may be accepted in lieu of a General CLS
Preferred Qualifications:
- Two (2) to five (5) years of Clinical Laboratory experience
- American Society of Clinical Pathology
