Job Description
Summary: Children's Wisconsin is a nationally recognized health system dedicated solely to the health and well-being of children. The Neurophysiology Tech Intern will perform a variety of neurodiagnostic procedures to record and study brain activities for diagnosing neurological disorders under supervision.
Responsibilities:
- Under supervision, performs a variety of neurodiagnostic procedures to evoke, record, and study electrical physiological brain activities for use in diagnosing neurological disorders
- Demonstrates competency and functions independently utilizing appropriate judgment in in-patient and outpatient settings
Required Qualifications:
- Current enrollment in good standing in an END Program
- Current enrollment in a bachelor's degree program in Neurosciences or Healthcare related program
- Current enrollment in an associate's degree program in Healthcare Related Field CAAHEP-accredited preferred
- Current CPR certification - Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers through American Heart or American Red Cross
- Interpersonal skills to interact effectively with parents, physicians, and other department personnel and coworkers
- Demonstrates an understanding of the underlying principles of the physiologic neurodiagnostic measurements
- Analytical skills necessary to recognize technical problems with equipment and respond accordingly
- Must be able to work independently and demonstrate effective time management skills
- Must be able to work flexible hours to include all shifts, weekends and holidays
- Ability to stand, walk or sit for long periods of time
- Ability to push or pull equipment up to 170 lbs
- Ability to lift equipment/supplies up to 25 lbs
- Ability to lift and move neonatal through adult patient populations
- Ability to assemble complex equipment and perform fine motor skills
