Job Description
Summary: Chickasaw Nation Industries, Inc. is a holding company engaged in various business lines for the federal government and commercial enterprises. The Paralegal supports the Health and Human Services Office for Civil Rights by participating in resolving complaints related to privacy and civil rights laws, and ensuring compliance with established guidelines.
Responsibilities:
- Participates in resolving complaints alleging violations of the various privacy and civil rights laws for compliance with OCR policy and guidelines for case processing
- Resolves complaints recommended for administrative, non-investigative closures using prewritten templates and established case resolution guidelines
- Consistently and accurately distinguish between the different technical assistance letters and uses the most appropriate template; follow policy regarding consent from complainants; draft case notes, closure letters, and other necessary documents with minimal to no typos or grammatical errors
- Conducts routine office functions with minimal direction and has experience with a variety of computer applications, including Microsoft Word and Excel
- Ability to produce, track and manage multiple deliverables with overlapping deadlines in a high-performing environment
- Upload and download case documentation and supporting materials through client portals and internal systems
- Transfer case information accurately between triaging stages while maintaining data integrity
- Monitor client case portals for new assignments, updates, requests, and status changes
- Verify completeness and accuracy of case information before escalating
- Perform high-volume data entry with strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Maintain organized electronic records and audit trails
- Update internal tracking systems with current case statuses and required documentation
- Ensure all portal submissions meet client-specific formatting and submission requirements
- Support Triagers, Team Leads, and Government customer with administrative workflow tasks
- Communicate professionally with internal teams regarding case status, portal issues, and workflow needs
- Follow all internal SOPs, compliance standards, and client-specific processes
- Preference should be given to individuals with knowledge of the application of nondiscrimination and conscience regulations, the HIPAA Rules, court decisions, agency, case precedent, theories, concepts, and principles to investigation, enforcement, and compliance work
Required Qualifications:
- Must be able to obtain government security clearance

- Minimum educational experience is an Associate's degree from an accredited college/university or experience equivalent to the GS-7 level or higher in the Federal Government
Preferred Qualifications:
