Job Description
Summary: Chester County Intermediate Unit provides educational and community-based services and is seeking a Technical Reader to support its Advanced Clinical Services and Home and Community Services programs. The role reviews and approves electronic service logs, coordinates data, monitors billing accuracy and compliance, prepares reports, supports database administration, and trains staff on data systems and procedures.
Responsibilities:
- The incumbent will access online databases and approve the daily submission of electronic logs by staff in a timely and accurate manner and upload any required documents. Update databases as clients are enrolled and exited. Create new accounts for staff as required
- Will monitor to ensure all the necessary components of the log has been completed and will communicate with staff to make any necessary corrections. Communicate with case managers regarding any consistent compliance issues
- Will audit data by completing weekly/monthly reports to monitor data for entry errors and ensure compliance with current state and federal regulations. Prepare and submit required reports to districts, state, and federal agencies
- Will monitor the billing system for accuracy to ensure payment from school districts, Medicaid, and/or private insurers for services provided to clients. Generate reports and data verification as requested for billing purposes
- Will function as primary contact with IT regarding database revisions and technical issues. Collaborate with IT and payroll departments on staff payroll issues related to data within the databases
- Develop systems/charts/graphs/projections to track targeted data to improve programmatic efficiency
- Will develop systems and procedures to train staff in order to maintain the integrity of all data entered into database systems. Attend and facilitate trainings and meetings to develop and implement new procedures to ensure accurate data
- Will assist in the clerical duties associated with logs to the amount and extent that is needed programmatically
- The incumbent will perform day-to-day case maintenance, which includes all clerical responsibilities related to the promptness of packet submission and the receipt of service authorization from all identified funders/insurances, etc
- Will assist in the clerical duties associated with H&CS Training to the amount and extent that is needed programmatically
- Maintain HIPPA and FERPA Regulations with regard to student/staff data
- Support and coordinate with other technical readers as may be needed for special projects and/or heavy workload periods
- Perform additional duties as needed and specified by new mandates and requirements
- Provide guidance and training to staff in the use of various computer application programs: word processing, database, spreadsheets, and other computer applications
Required Qualifications:
- • Must have demonstrated organizational skills
- • Must be able to communicate clearly and concisely both in oral and written form
- • Must be skilled in supporting staff to properly meet their responsibilities
- • Must be skilled in Microsoft Office Word and Excel
- • A High School Diploma
- • Experience using various databases
- • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit, stand, and walk
- • The employee is frequently required to talk and listen
- • The position requires the employee to use hands to handle or feel, and to reach with hands and arms
- • The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
- • This job requires close vision and the ability to adjust focus
- • The position requires meeting deadlines with severe time constraints, interacting with staff and the public, and irregular or extended work hours
- • The work environment is primarily within a cubicle setting, however, the position also requires travel to other work environments such as home, school and community settings. The position requires significant time daily processing information on a monitor
