Summary
The Radiologic Technologist Assistant is responsible for the maintenance and quality of patient care on a continuing basis for the Diagnostic Radiology Department and throughout the organization. All duties will be under the direct supervision of a Registered Technologist.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Produce a variety of high-quality images through proper positioning and technique
Review patient’s chart for confirmation of physician's orders and follows written and/or verbal protocols and instructions
Follow department, ACR, NRC, and State regulations for radiation safety to keeps exposure "ALARA"
Follow MRI safety guidelines
Transport patients as needed
Educate the patient and their family, as needed, regarding the exam, treatment, and outcome
Perform visual preventative safety inspections and report dangerous department or equipment conditions to the appropriate personnel
Communicate equipment malfunctions and low inventory levels to the appropriate supervisor
Perform procedures as the schedule requires and rotates call if needed
Reports to/has all images/scans checked by registered technologist before sending to PACS
Review supporting documents
Navigate EPIC as necessary (i.e. beginning exams, ending exams, ordering contrast, adding patient history, and any other assignments needed by registered technologist)
Perform other duties as assigned

Education and Experience
Minimum Required Education: Applicant must be a student of an accredited program in radiologic technology or MRI. The applicant must be in good standing (i.e. not on probation or remediation).
Experience: The applicant must have completed the first year of Radiology Technical program at an accredited education institution.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
Must be BLS certified within 1 month of employment.
