Job Summary Oversee and manage welding production operations, ensuring efficiency, quality, and safety within Challenge Manufacturing Holdings, Inc.
Job Responsibilities * Directly supervise and coordinate the activities of welding production personnel. * Plan and organize daily welding production schedules to meet output targets. * Monitor welding processes and procedures to ensure adherence to quality standards, blueprints, and specifications. * Identify and troubleshoot welding-related issues, implementing corrective actions as needed. * Conduct regular inspections of welded products for defects and compliance. * Train and mentor welding staff on best practices, safety protocols, and new techniques. * Maintain accurate production records, including output, scrap rates, and downtime. * Ensure a safe working environment by enforcing company safety policies and procedures. * Collaborate with other departments (e.g., maintenance, quality assurance) to optimize production flow. * Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance welding efficiency and product quality. * Manage equipment maintenance schedules and coordinate repairs. * Evaluate employee performance and provide feedback.
Job Qualifications * High School Diploma or GED required; Associate's degree in a technical field or related certification preferred. * Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a welding production environment, with at least 1-2 years in a supervisory role. * Strong knowledge of various welding processes (e.g., MIG, TIG, Resistance Welding) and their applications. * Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, and welding symbols. * Demonstrated understanding of quality control principles and measurement techniques. * Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. * Ability to troubleshoot and problem-solve complex welding issues. * Strong commitment to safety and ability to enforce safety regulations. * Basic computer skills for data entry and record keeping. * Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and adapt to changing priorities. * AWS Certified Welding Supervisor (CWS) or Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification is a plus.
