AI Systems Coordinator

Summary: The Center for a New American Security (CNAS) is an independent, bipartisan research institution dedicated to national security and defense policy. They are seeking an AI Systems Coordinator for summer 2026 to support operational challenges through artificial intelligence tools and workflows in a nonprofit environment. Responsibilities: - Assess and document current operational processes across CNAS business functions to identify opportunities for AI-driven improvements - Design, prototype, and implement AI-powered workflows and tools to streamline internal operations - Collaborate with the Director of Operations and cross-functional teams to identify process innovation initiatives - Develop clear guidance for sustaining AI-enhanced process recommendations after the summer term concludes - Participate in and contribute to the success of CNAS programming and events Required Qualifications: - Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from an undergraduate or graduate program in computer science, data science, information systems, or related field - Demonstrated experience working with AI tools, large language models, or automation platforms - Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders - Interest in public service, national security, or nonprofit operations - Legal right to work in the United States Required Skills: Artificial intelligence tools, Large language models, Automation platforms
