About Celco Marketing
Celco Marketing is looking for an experienced CNC Operator to join our signage production team in Tullow.
We are seeking someone who already has hands-on experience in CNC operation and the signage industry. This is not an entry-level position. The successful candidate must understand CNC machinery, production files, vector artwork, and the practical requirements of manufacturing signage.
Our CNC machine is a Mantech Spartan, and the candidate must be comfortable learning and working with the relevant machine software and workflow.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate and set up the Mantech Spartan CNC machine for signage production.
- Prepare and check files before sending jobs to the CNC.
- Work confidently with vector-based artwork and vector lines.
- Understand paths, nodes, curves, shapes, outlines, and cutting paths.
- Identify and correct common artwork issues that could affect CNC production.
- Prepare artwork/files for cutting, routing, engraving, drilling, and other CNC processes.
- Select appropriate cutting tools and settings according to the material and job requirements.
- Operate the CNC safely and efficiently.
- Work with signage materials including acrylic, aluminium/ACM, PVC, MDF, wood, and other sheet materials.
- Ensure measurements, dimensions, and cutting paths are accurate.
- Inspect finished pieces and ensure they meet the required quality standards.
- Troubleshoot basic CNC, software, and production issues.
- Maintain the CNC machine and keep the work area clean and organised.
- Communicate with the design and production team regarding job requirements and any artwork issues.
- Complete jobs accurately and within production deadlines.
Essential Requirements
The following requirements are essential:
- Previous professional CNC operating experience.
- Previous experience working specifically in the signage industry.
- Practical knowledge of operating CNC machinery.
- Experience using CNC software and preparing files for machine production.
- Ability to work confidently with vector lines and vector artwork.
- Good understanding of paths, nodes, curves, outlines, shapes, and cutting lines.
- Ability to recognise and fix basic artwork problems before production.
- Basic graphic design knowledge.
- Ability to understand measurements, dimensions, drawings, and production specifications.
- Good knowledge of materials commonly used in signage production.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a production team.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to meet deadlines.
CNC & Software Knowledge
The successful candidate should have previous experience with CNC production software.
Experience with the Mantech Spartan CNC is highly desirable. Candidates who have operated other professional CNC routers may also be considered, provided they have strong relevant signage experience and are capable of learning our specific machine and software workflow.
The candidate should be comfortable working with different file formats and preparing artwork for CNC production.
Being able to operate the machine alone is not enough — you must understand how artwork and vector files are prepared for CNC cutting.
Signage Industry Experience
Previous experience in the signage industry is mandatory.
We are looking for someone who understands the complete process from artwork/file preparation through to CNC production and finished signage components.

Portfolio – Mandatory
Applicants must provide a portfolio of previous signage work.
Your portfolio should demonstrate actual signage projects you have worked on, particularly projects involving CNC cutting, routing, engraving, or other CNC-produced components.
Applications without a relevant signage portfolio may not be considered.
References – Mandatory
Applicants must be able to provide professional references from previous employers or clients who can verify their CNC and signage industry experience.
