Job Description
Cedar Park Med is hiring a Radiation Therapist for a 13-week assignment with possible extension. This role is ideal for an experienced Radiation Therapist who is confident working with advanced radiation therapy equipment and delivering safe, accurate treatment in accordance with physician orders and regulatory standards. Candidates with experience using TrueBeam and CT Sim are strongly preferred.
Shift / Schedule
- Day shift (8:00 AM – 4:30 PM)
- Monday to Friday
- 13-week assignment with possible extension
Position Overview
As a Radiation Therapist, you will be responsible for delivering prescribed radiation therapy treatments, preparing and operating radiotherapy equipment, supporting simulation and treatment planning processes, and maintaining accurate treatment records. This role requires strong technical knowledge, attention to detail, and a commitment to patient safety and compassionate care throughout the treatment process.
Responsibilities
- Deliver radiation therapy to patients as prescribed and in accordance with physician instructions
- Prepare and operate radiotherapy equipment, including Co-60, Linear Accelerator, Simulator, and related treatment equipment
- Coordinate patient appointments and treatment flow
- Interpret treatment prescriptions and administer radiation therapy accurately
- Take radiographic films to confirm treatment volume
- Perform pre-treatment duties by operating the Simulator for tumor localization and treatment planning support
- Collect physical factors for treatment plans and take patient photographs for portal verification
- Provide all necessary patient safety measures during treatment
- Recognize radiation reactions and provide proper care instructions to patients
- Maintain accurate treatment records and port films
- Ensure compliance with departmental and regulatory policies and procedures
- Participate in departmental in-service and educational programs
- Coordinate departmental and inpatient activities to support quality patient care
Required Qualifications
- Associate degree from an AMA-certified program
- RRT license required
- 3-5 years of related experience
- Must successfully pass pre-employment health clearance

- Experience with TrueBeam
- Experience with CT Sim
