Job Description
We are hiring an experienced Nurse Manager – Behavioral Health for a hospital-based role in Brooklyn. This is a leadership position overseeing a psychiatric unit with full operational and clinical responsibility.
Shift/Schedule: Monday–Friday 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM
Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily operations of a behavioral health unit
- Lead and support nursing staff and interdisciplinary teams
- Ensure compliance with NYSDOH, Joint Commission, and regulatory standards
- Monitor admissions, discharges, and patient care quality
- Drive performance improvement initiatives and quality metrics
- Manage staffing, budgeting, and unit operations
- Support survey readiness and regulatory compliance
- Collaborate with senior leadership on clinical and operational goals
Requirements:
- Active RN license in New York
- 5+ years RN experience
- 5+ years psychiatric/behavioral health experience
- 2+ years of leadership experience in a hospital setting
- Experience managing a psychiatric unit (required)
- Strong knowledge of regulatory standards (DOH, Joint Commission)
- Experience with quality improvement and performance metrics
Education & Certifications:
- BSN required
- Master’s in Nursing preferred
- BLS, ACLS required
- Crisis Management certification (PMCS, TRUST)
