Job Description
Summary: Caterpillar Inc. is a global company focused on building a better world through innovation and sustainability. The Facilities Engineer will support process development projects aimed at continuous improvement in safety, quality, velocity, and cost of manufacturing while performing routine facility maintenance and infrastructure support activities.
Responsibilities:
- Performing or assisting in routine facilities maintenance or construction work
- Oversee the design, construction, operations, and maintenance of the facilities infrastructure to support HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems
- Monitoring and maintaining parts and tools inventory for infrastructure components and services
- Serving as first line of support for building service problems and work requests
- Assisting facility engineers and supporting manufacturing and other related departments
Required Qualifications:
- Degree or equivalent experience desired
- Basic knowledge of the decision-making process and associated tools and techniques; ability to accurately analyze situations and reach productive decisions based on informed judgment
- Working knowledge of processes, methodologies and techniques used to manage plant facilities; ability to handle the full spectrum of activities for managing and maintaining physical facilities and infrastructure
- Working knowledge of approaches, tools, techniques for recognizing, anticipating, and resolving organizational, operational or process problems; ability to apply knowledge of problem solving appropriately to diverse situations
- Working knowledge of effective project management strategies and tactics; ability to plan, organize, monitor, and control projects, ensuring efficient utilization of technical and administrative resources to achieve project objectives
- Working knowledge of technical troubleshooting approaches, tools, and techniques; ability to anticipate, recognize, and resolve technical issues on hardware, software, application, or operation
Preferred Qualifications:
- Degree preference in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
- Previous experience with HVAC, plumbing, and electrical routine facility maintenance
- Previous project management experience
- Previous experience with utilization of project management capital process
- Intermediate experience with SharePoint, teams, and excel data input and tracking
