Warranty Administrator, Fleet at Carvana in Tempe, AZ

About Carvana

At Carvana, we sell cars, but we’re not salespeople. Since 2013, we’ve been making it our mission to change the way people buy cars. We saw a huge problem with how much it can suck to buy a car the traditional way, so we committed ourselves to tackling one of the largest, yet-to-be-disrupted markets in the world – the $1T per year U.S. car market (yes, that’s $Trillion with a “T”).

With the ability to search thousands of vehicles from our expansive inventory, to high-resolution 360° photographs of our vehicles’ interior and exterior, to real-time financing and the ability to complete contracts without visiting the back room of a dealership, we provide a seamless, online car buying experience for consumers that can be completed from their desktop or mobile device. All our vehicles are inspected and reconditioned based on our 150-point certification checklist and come with a 7-day return policy. We also operate our own logistics network to deliver cars to customers as soon as the next day, as well as offer customer pick-up at our state-of-the-art Car Vending Machine locations (yes, you read that right). By putting customer satisfaction at the core of our business, we’ve built a no-pressure, no-haggle online car buying experience that saves our customers time and money.

About the team and position

The Sr. Specialist Warranty is responsible for the oversight, administration, and optimization of all warranty claims and recovery processes for a large-scale Class 8, Class 6, and Class 5 tractor and trailer fleet. This includes managing relationships with OEMs (e.g., Freightliner, Isuzu, Cummins), ensuring shop compliance with filing procedures, and identifying "hidden" recovery opportunities like policy adjustments and campaigns.

The Sr. Specialist Warranty is an individual contributor role based at Tempe headquarters, reporting directly to the Associate Director Vendor and Asset Operations. This role will work a traditional Monday - Friday business hours schedule (typically 8-5).

What you’ll be doing

• OEM & Dealer Relations: Act as the primary point of contact for manufacturers and dealerships; negotiate "policy" or "goodwill" coverage for failures occurring just outside of standard warranty terms.
• Compliance & Auditing: Perform regular audits of internal repair orders to ensure technicians and service writers are documenting "three Cs" (Complaint, Cause, and Correction) required for successful filings.
• Data Analysis: Monitor failure trends across the fleet to identify recurring component issues. Provide data to the Procurement team to influence future equipment specifications.
• Financial Reporting: Track monthly recovery targets and provide leadership with visibility into "dollars-per-unit" recovered and pending credits.
• Campaign & Recall Tracking: Monitor completion rates for safety recalls and manufacturer service bulletins across multiple regions/terminals.

Required Qualifications

• Experience: 3+ years in heavy-duty trucking maintenance, specifically focused on Class 8, Class 6, and Class 5 equipment.
• Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of VMRS (Vehicle Maintenance Reporting Standards) codes and major OEM portal systems (e.g., Daimler, Cummins QuickServe, etc.).
• Communication: Ability to bridge the gap between "grease-under-the-fingernails" shop operations and corporate financial reporting.
