Automotive State Inspection Technician at Carvana in Syracuse, NY

Summary: Carvana is the fastest-growing used automotive retailer in U.S. history and is seeking State Inspectors to join their team. In this role, you will perform light maintenance, fluid checks, and conduct quality inspections on vehicles to ensure they meet high standards before reaching customers. Responsibilities: - Perform light maintenance, fluid checks, and/or conduct quality inspections on our vehicles to look for any imperfections or repairs that may be needed throughout the post-production process - Perform light maintenance, fluid checks, and/or conduct the initial inspection on our vehicles to look for any imperfections or repairs that may be needed throughout the reconditioning process - Perform light maintenance or repairs, including changing brakes and tires - Perform light to medium automotive repairs and minimal diagnostics on our vehicles - Perform extensive repairs and heavy engine work, as well as advanced vehicle diagnostics on all makes and models, including electric and hybrid vehicles - Ability to physically operate vehicle equipment and tools - must be able to lift up to 60 pounds independently - Must be at least 18 years of age and possess a valid driver’s license - An ability to work in a fast-paced, ever-changing production environment while sometimes being exposed to excessive weather conditions (heat/cold) - Use of safety equipment that may include but not limited to face shield or goggles, non-slip shoes, gloves, mask, and other protective garments and equipment Required Qualifications: - a minimum of professional automotive repair experience - perform light maintenance, fluid checks, and/or conduct quality inspections on vehicles - Ability to physically operate vehicle equipment and tools - must be able to lift up to 60 pounds independently - Must be at least 18 years of age and possess a valid driver's license - Some positions may be subject to a Motor Vehicle Records (MVR) check - An ability to work in a fast-paced, ever-changing production environment while sometimes being exposed to excessive weather conditions (heat/cold) - Use of safety equipment that may include but not limited to face shield or goggles, non-slip shoes, gloves, mask, and other protective garments and equipment Preferred Qualifications: - Entry-Level Auto Technician (min 6 months professional experience) - Brake and Tire Technician (min 1 year professional experience) - Mid-Level Technician (min 3 years of professional experience) - Experienced Technician (min 5 years of professional experience) Required Skills: Automotive repair, Vehicle inspection, Light maintenance, Fluid checks, Brake replacement, Tire replacement, Mechanical repair, Vehicle diagnostics, Electric vehicle repair, Hybrid vehicle repair, Use of safety equipment, Operation of vehicle equipment and tools, Valid driver’s license Benefits: Competitive wage and amazing perks – including a 401(k) with Carvana match and even a vehicle purchase discount, 100% company-paid healthcare premiums, Generous paid-time off and your birthday is a holiday!, ASE and tool reimbursement programs, Tuition reimbursement and student loan repayment
